Dual Diagnosis Program

Dual Diagnosis Program

HRI Hospital’s dual diagnosis partial hospitalization program is for adults with co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse disorders. It is for patients whose primary disorder is substance use. The program aims to stabilize both conditions and identify the root cause of the problems. Our goal is to help these patients toward long-term mental wellness and sobriety.

Before addressing the co-occurring disorders, it’s important to know which came first. Was the patient’s anxiety disorder caused by drug use or does he or she use drugs as a crutch for the disorder? The answer to this question is crucial to recovery.

Signs of Co-Occurring Disorders

  • Extreme mood swings
  • Inability to control emotions
  • Declining work performance
  • Legal or financial issues
  • Trouble maintaining functional relationships
  • Hallucinations
  • Suicidal behavior
