Triangle Program at HRI Hospital: Why Choose Us?
The Triangle partial hospitalization program (PHP) at HRI Hospital is for members of the LGBTQ+ community aged 18 years and older. The program is designed to address the unique challenges of LGBTQ+ people, including systemic marginalization, discrimination and trauma.
Our LGBTQ+ partial hospitalization program meets Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. You may attend in person or virtually. If you attend in person, we provide breakfast and lunch. Triangle is a two-week treatment program.
HRI Hospital was one of the first providers of mental health treatment for the LGBTQ+ community in the state of Massachusetts. We have been helping members of the LGBTQ+ community recover from mental health issues since 1990. Our staff is trained to take a trauma-informed approach to provide a compassionate environment for your healing.
At HRI Hospital, you’ll find:
- High-quality care: Our commitment to high-quality mental health care has earned our hospital Joint Commission accreditation.
- Skilled care providers: You work with master’s-level therapists during group therapy and a nurse practitioner for medication management. You also see a case manager, who can help with aftercare planning and referrals.
- Evidence-based treatment: We use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and expressive therapy (such as music and art therapy). These treatments are grounded in research and our clinical knowledge. They provide the coping skills you need to recover.
- Structured environment: Your daily schedule includes five different group therapy sessions. Each covers a different topic, such as sexuality and gender expression, self-esteem and empowerment, and trauma and recovery.
- Convenient location: We are conveniently located near the subway and several bus stops. If you choose to drive, we have ample parking available.
- Virtual programming: You may attend our LGBTQ+ PHP online or in person.
